A taste of hand-quilting

A taste of hand-quilting

June 19 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

This is a workshop for beginners to try traditional hand-quilting (‘Durham’ or ‘North County’ quilting). With the help of artist Amanda Jane Ogden, you will make a small, personalised piece inspired by the architecture and design of Cosin’s Library.

About Amanda:

I have loved making things since I was a child, influenced no doubt by my mother (a keen dressmaker) and my father (a garden designer and amateur painter). My school and university encouraged me in a different direction, however, and it was not until much later that my own locked-in creativity began to emerge. Embroidery classes led on to a Textiles degree and PGCE and an additional qualification in Patchwork and Quilting.  Currently, I draw, paint, design and stitch full-time as a designer-maker (listed in the Crafts Council Directory). It is now a pleasure to encourage creative skills in other people.
